I'm Ken! I am a freelance Director of Photography/Director based in Singapore, hailing from Australia and born in Japan. It's a bit complicated but I'll tell you over a beer sometime.  

 

My background gave birth to Three Islands Productions, a company I registered in 2011 to represent my three island homes.  My work has brought me all over asia and beyond where I have played the role of producer, director and director of photography. However its is behind the camera where I shine.  Composition and lighting is what excites me most.  ​

I have been chipping away at my craft for over 20 years and have gained invaluable experience lensing commercials, corporate films, documentaries, and short/feature length narratives.  To this day I have resisted specialising and always  try to maintain a good balance of jobs.

 

Over the years the greatest lesson I have learnt in this time is "balance".  The balance to always push the boundaries and achieve excellent results while considering clients needs and production limitations.  The balance of getting my ideas heard while collaborating and listening.  The balance of leading whilst supporting.  I believe understanding this balance is what clients value most.
